What: LEST participated in the Energy Community Summer School

When: 21st – 28th August 2021

From 21 to 28 August 2021, the Energy Community organised its 5th Summer School in the city of its headquarters, Vienna. Ms. Chloe Fournely, researcher and PhD candidate from LEST, took part in this intensive week of lectures delivered by experts from all fields of energy in Europe.

After visiting the never-operated nuclear power plant in Zwentendorf, all participants had the chance to hear from knowledgeable and skilled specialists on the technical and economic challenges for electricity and gas, as well as the political and legal aspects of the energy transition. The emphasis was laid on the Fit for 55 Package under the European Green Deal and the integration of non-EU Balkan countries into the carbon-neutral future that we are all building.

LEST would like to give a big thank-you to the Energy Community Secretariat for organising this amazing week and giving such a great opportunity for young energy professionals to connect with each other and spark off innovative and forefront discussions on the future of energy sector!
