At the Laboratory of Energy Policy, we combine in-depth expertise with practical experience. When addressing challenges, from everyday issues to more complex ones, we build on data, good practices, and current trends in the energy sector.
We provide consulting in the area of efficient (electrical) energy use and the optimisation of related costs. Because each case is specific, we tailor our approach to each client: we start with a comprehensive analysis of past consumption, define current conditions, and identify expected future needs and objectives.
Savings are often achievable through optimisation of processes at major consumers. Where investments are also appropriate, we advise on planning and sizing on-site generation and energy management solutions – such as solar PV systems and battery storage – and provide support for their effective operation. Investments in renewable energy are economically justified primarily when they are well designed and matched to actual needs.
Based on extensive experience in establishing and operating energy communities, we also provide guidance in this area. To reduce electricity costs, we advise on selecting an appropriate electricity procurement strategy and on optimising network tariff costs.
