First Consortium meeting of ePowerMove Project
What: Kick-off meeting of ePowerMove Project
Where: Brussels, Belgium
When: 21.-22.1.2025

The new year has started in an exciting and active way for the Laboratory for Energy Policy. Among the most important activities, it is worth highlighting the kick-off of the ePowerMove project and the first project consortium meeting. The partners met on January 21 and 22 in Brussels, Belgium, where LEST was represented by the head of the laboratory, Dr. Tomi Medved.
The project, funded under the Horizon Europe program, focuses on charging stations for electric vehicles and their impact on the grid. As part of the project, the partners will develop electric charging stations that, in addition to being more user-friendly and having a more suitable design, will also enable grid stabilization (using Vehicle-to-Grid technology) and the integration of renewable energy sources. The project will validate theoretical solutions on three pilot installations in Finland, Cyprus, and Austria.
LEST’s role as a research institution in the project is to lead two tasks within work packages 3 and 5. As part of these tasks, we will work with partners to develop a multi-level architecture for managing bidirectional charging and business models for large-scale adoption.
