EESTEC Olympics 2.0 competition

November 29, 2023

What: EESTEC Olympics 2.0 competition

Where: Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana

When: 13th of December 2023

The EESTEC Society, in collaboration with ŠEK (Student Energy Club), is once again organizing a one-day competition, EESTEC Olympics 2.0.

The competition will take place on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. On Thursday, December 14, 2023, everyone is cordially invited to presentations of solutions and the award ceremony.

This year, the challenge themes have been prepared by the main sponsor of the competition, HSE (Holding of Slovenian Power Plants), and the laboratories of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (LPVO – Laboratory of photovoltaics and optoelectronics, LEST – Laboratory of energy policy, LEON – Laboratory of electricity networks and devices).

Competitors will attempt to solve three challenges and compete for lucrative prizes.

The green energy transition in Slovenia is a challenging task, but young ambitious students see it as an opportunity rather than a problem. The laboratories, who tackle similar problems daily, are also aware of this.

This year, challenges have been prepared on various topics, including:

  • Impact of the new tariff system
  • Electric mobility and charging of electric vehicles
  • Supply of Slovenia with electrical energy from renewable sources

Competitors will strive to find the best strategy and the most innovative, out-of-the-box ideas.

They will gain new knowledge, experiences, and forge new connections.

The competition will take place on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. On Thursday, December 14, 2023, everyone is cordially invited to presentations of solutions and the award ceremony.
