PETROL MASTER’S THESES 2019 AWARDS CEREMONY, PRESENTATION OF TOPICS FOR 2020 AND PROJECT X-FLEX

The Laboratory of Energy Policy in cooperation with Petrol d.d. organized master’s thesis 2019 awards ceremony, presentation of master thesis topics for the next year and presentation of project X-FLEX.
Mr. Borut Kozan, Ph.D., Head of Energy Product Development at Petrol, welcomed the audience which consisted of electrical engineering students, representatives of Petrol and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana.
In 2019 four students decided to write the master’s thesis under the mentorship of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Petrol. This year Mr. Jovancho Grozdanovski received a special award for the best master’s thesis which was handed over by Mr. Gašper Artač, Ph.D., Head of Energy Management Centre at Petrol, and co-mentor of the awardee. Congratulations!
In the second part of the event Mr. Tomi Medved, PhD, from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Mr. Artač, PhD, presented the EU H2020 X-FLEX project which has started in October. The project has four pilot locations, two of which are located in Slovenia – Luče and Ravne na Koroškem. Luče, one of the pilot sites in COMPILE project as well, will be upgraded with the emphasis on flexibility management.
To conclude with, Mr. Artač, PhD, presented 10 interesting topics for master’s theses which are directly related to challenges the company faces during its daily operations. Interested students will get full support in the form of a company’s mentorship, data and possible student work. The best theses will be rewarded accordingly.
