Master’s Thesis in Collaboration with LEST
What: Master’s thesis in collaboration with LEST
Where: University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering
When: June 21, 2024
On the first day of summer, we celebrated the successful defence of a master’s thesis by our intern from Spain, Óscar Verdejo Martos, from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. The thesis was completed under the supervision of Prof. Andrej F. Gubina and the co-mentorship of our colleague Edin Lakić.
The master’s thesis focuses on a comparative analysis of renewable energy support scheme mechanisms in Spain, Germany, and France. It evaluates the effectiveness of subsidies, tariff systems, tax incentives, and market mechanisms in promoting renewable energy production and combined heat and power. The thesis identifies the advantages and disadvantages unique to each country and proposes new operational pathways to enhance renewable energy adoption and accelerate the transition towards achieving the United Nations’ sustainable development goals. Additionally, it provides recommendations for reforming existing support schemes to improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
The laboratory is delighted to congratulate Óscar Verdejo Martos on his successful defence of his master’s thesis and wishes him continued success in all his academic and professional journeys!
