ePowerMove meeting in Vienna

June 9, 2025

What: 1st GM of ePowerMove project in Vienna

Where: Vienna, Austria

When: 4th – 5th June 2024

After the so-called “kick-off” meeting took place in Brussels in January, the ePowerMove project partners met in person for the first time after six months of virtual collaboration. The meeting was held on Wednesday, June 4, and Thursday, June 5, at the headquarters of AustriaTech in the center of Vienna.

PowerMove is a European project focused on the development of cost-effective, user-friendly, and bidirectional (V2G) charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. The goal is to enable smart charging that supports energy efficiency, grid stability, and increased use of renewable energy sources. Pilot solutions will be tested in three locations: Helsinki, Klagenfurt, and Nicosia.

During the first day of the meeting, partners presented and discussed work packages WP1, WP2, WP3, and WP4. The Laboratory of Energy Policy plays an active role in the project as the leader of Task T3.1. In this task, we work closely with partners to design a multi-layer architecture for the coordination of bidirectional charging. The aim of Task T3.1 is to develop an effective architecture that anticipates key challenges and opportunities in this area and enables early identification of potential risks.

On the second day, the remaining work packages were presented by the partners. Our team was assigned the afternoon slot, during which we organized a workshop together with partners from UCY (leaders of WP3). We presented our implementation plan for the task and encouraged partners to actively contribute. During the workshop, partners exchanged opinions and provided suggestions that will support mutual understanding and collaboration in the architecture design process.

The meeting took place in a positive atmosphere, with many valuable suggestions and insightful discussions.
