Martin Povh, PhD Policy Officer, Team Leader - Market Codes, ACER
Martin Povh obtained his university and PhD degrees at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, in 2001 and 2009, respectively. Between 2001 and 2006 he was a Research Assistant at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, carrying out research and education projects at the Laboratory for Energy Policy. During 2007 – 2011, Martin Povh was employed at ELES (Slovenia’s Transmission System Operator). As a head of strategy department he was responsible for research and development in the area of congestion management, ancillary services, balancing market and electricity market in general. He now works at The Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) as a Policy Officer – Team Leader for Market Codes. He is responsible for the development of European legislation (network codes) and rules for implementation and functioning of Internal European Electricity Market.
