Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia

Robert Golob obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD degree in electrical engineering at the University of Ljubljana in 1989, 1992, and 1994, respectively. After graduation, he was awarded a post-doctoral Fulbright scholarship of a Visiting Researcher at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. His areas of expertise are Power System Operation (EES), Deregulation of Electricity Markets, Restructuring of Electricity Sector, Electricity Markets and Energy Policy. He served the Government of Slovenia as the State Secretary between 1999 and 2002. As a founder and a leading member of the Laboratory for Energy Policy research group, he has published a number of papers in the field of Power System Protection, Energy Source Optimization and Electrical Power System (EPS) Planning. He was a project manager of numerous research projects set up for the needs of electricity sector.

Robert Golob served as President of the Management Board of GEN-I d.o.o. until 2022 and is currently the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia.
