New Interns joined LEST

We are pleased to announce that our laboratory is once again hosting foreign students this year. At the beginning of spring, Oscar Verdejo Martos and Ettore Mattia Minucci joined us. Oscar comes from Valencia, where he is pursuing a master’s degree in industrial engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de València. Ettore is from Italy, specifically Bologna, where he is enrolled in the master’s program in energy engineering at the Alama Mater Stuiorum – Università di Bologna. Both students joined our laboratory to work on their master’s theses, with assistance and mentorship from our colleague, Edin Lakić, PhD.

In May, two more students joined our team, this time from across the Atlantic, specifically from Canada. Alessa Orsini and Craig Cogan joined us to gain new experiences in their respective fields. Alessa, a Graphic design student at Dawson College, will primarily collaborate with researcher Tamara Smolej, while Craig, who studies Software Engineering at Concorida University, will work on the X-Flex under the mentorship of Tomi Medved, PhD.

In the middle of last month, the students introduced themselves at the traditional “Meet Our Students & Pizza Party” event, for which all the students prepared short PowerPoint presentations to present themselves and discuss their professional and personal interests. After the presentations, we enjoyed pizza and got to know each other better in a relaxed atmosphere.
