Andrej F. Gubina for Energetika.NET: Renewables, Nuclear and Knowledge are Indispensable!

July 1, 2019

What: Interview with Andrej F. Gubina

Where: Energetika.NET

When: 1. 7. 2019

In an interview with Energetika.NET, Prof. dr. Andrej F. Gubina, head of the Laboratory of Energy Policy, highlighted the national challenges and challenges of South East Europe in terms of better integration of renewable energy sources (RES). »The region’s renewable energy technical potential is fairly high, and largely unexploited. To be precise: The South East European region has a renewable energy technical potential of 740 GW. Of this amount 120 GW is represented by solar potential and 532 GW by wind potential – both of which are largely untapped. Of the overall RES potential, 126.9 GW is already cost-competitive today.«

The interview also includes an invitation to the European Energy Market (EEM) conference, which is one of the most highly acclaimed international conferences on electricity and gas markets. It will take place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, between 18th and 20th September 2019, and is organized by the Laboratory of Energy Policy.
