Ludvik Bartelj, PhD

Trading Director, GEN-I, d.o.o.

Ludvik Bartelj obtained his university and Ph.D. degrees at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, in 2002 and 2010, respectively. During 2002 – 2007 he was employed at Elektro Ljubljana d.d. in the Sales and Trading Department. As a junior researcher at the Laboratory for Energy Policy, he performed a number of studies and projects between 2003 and 2007 with focus on risk management, asset and portfolio optimization.

Ludvik Bartelj is now employed at GEN-I d.o.o. where he started as a Head of Portfolio Management and Analysis and continue as Chief Risk Officer, Trading Director responsible for Trading front activities, Trading Operations, Market and Portfolio Intelligence and Regional Origination. Currently serves as Advisor to the Management Board at GEN-I d.o.o. and Chief Executive Officer of GEN-I Trading North America in Houston, Texas.
