Dejan Paravan obtained his university degree at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, in 1999 and defended his PhD in 2004. Between 1999 and 2004 he was a junior researcher at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering as well as a teaching assistant, lecturing on Energy Conversion & Power Plants and Energy Generation. As an associate member of the Laboratory for Energy Policy group, his fields of expertise were Power System Deregulation and Production Planning. During 2004 – 2006 he performed the function of Sales and Trading Manager at Istrabenz-Gorenje. Before becoming GEN Energy’s director, he was Chief innovation officer at GEN-I d.o.o.
